Department: Falcon Field Airport
Business Objective: Falcon Field Airport
Core Business Process: Airport Safety
Mission Statement
Falcon Field provides a safe and operationally efficient airport
Desired Outcome
  • Falcon Field is safe for its customers and offers efficient aircraft access throughout the airport.

Key Performance Measure: Runway System Inspections
The total number of runway system inspections performed during the month.
Airport operations staff conduct routine visual runway inspections at least twice daily of pavement, markings, and lighting systems to ensure they are in good working order and to remove foreign object debris (FOD) that could pose a danger to aircraft. The daily number of inspections are added to obtain monthly totals.
  • FOD includes articles/substances that could cause damage.
  • Inspections also occur immediately after any aircraft incident to ensure runways & taxiways remain safe for aircraft. Additional inspections performed following aircraft incidents result in increased total inspections for the month.
  • The number of days in the month affects the total inspections for the month.
